Steam is offering UT3 black edition (basically UT3 with the new patch) for 12 bucks till the 15th of March
That is around 7 Euro for the game.

already got the game but only played it about 10 minutes

It is not too bad, the new titan patch did improve the game play imho.

I havent tested it with the latest patch. The game was absolutely horrendous before the patch, so if it is good now, then that patch must have been magical indeed.

I can not remember a bigger disappointment than UT3 when it comes to games. My first thought when I started the game was "holy shit, this sucks".

And ffs EPIC; Most other developers have figured out ways to counter the effects of ping nowadays, while UT3 still feels like ping-pong.

Add that UT3 doesnt have, and never will have any form of anti cheat, and its pretty much out of the question for me.

Well this is what I'm struggling with too; no anti cheat makes it pretty much unplayable online, both on a comp. level and on a fun lvl.

Just give it a try this weekend and make up your own picture. I think it is a good game, not freaking great but nice to play, especially for LAN-games

if this is so, then i will give it a 2nd chance!

when i played it i had problems to even change my settings to something i would feel comfortable with.
in game the biggest down side was that i could by no means find out where my enemies are. it was so overloaded with gfx that it felt like an image puzzle and i had to find the mistake
i think epic went for the money of the console ppl so that is y they did not care for the pc community

It still feels very console-centric when you play it now tbh; but for the rest I think it is a better game now than it was when it was released

i started the campaign and it does bring some fun idd. maybe you will find me on some insta CTF server one or the other night
oh i do hop on games like others change there socks i am like a bitch when it comes to computergames LOOOL

there is zeroping Saphod, no clue what servers it is on tho they probably all died already, I havnt noticed to many cheaters in insta servers, competition now requires you to run xray but I doubt xray catches the proces of the bot and will only catch people who have a grafical interface on their screen...
